A kitten that was curled up against a wall, hunched over, asked heaven for a compassionate soul to come and help him with his pain.

The streets of Brooklyn, New York have plenty of abandoned pet stories to tell. Some have had wonderful endings. Others, unfortunately, have only remained for reflection.

However, the story that we want to share with you now is one of those that truly touches our hearts. On several occasions they had seen a tabby kitten wandering the streets.

Huddled against a wall, this kitten waited for the right person to come into his life

Until now no one had managed to rescue him, but Gissell, a NYC Cat Coalition rescuer, set out to go after him to change his life. She was touring the area where the cat had been reported, when she saw it curled up.

The kitten was dozing against the wall of a homeless shelter. It seemed as if he himself understood that, like the beings that came to this place in search of a little help, he was in similar conditions.

Gissell hadn’t brought a trap with her, nor a cage, just a little food. With street cats you never know. Many of them are usually wild and others have experienced so many bitter moments firsthand that they do not usually feel any empathy with people.

He seemed crazy, but Gissell did what anyone would do to a helpless kitten. She called him affectionately… and the kitty responded to his call! To the surprise of the rescuer, the little tabby did not have to beg. It was evident that he was so in need of love, that he would come at the slightest gesture of affection.

The rescuer regretted not having brought the tools with her to get that boy off the streets at that precise moment, but at least she felt a great relief to see that he was docile and that he was willing to receive her help and affection very willingly. .

Gissell immediately went to find a cage and some more food, but when he returned to where she had found the kitten, she didn’t see him. The rescuer was demoralized. She had come so close to getting that little boy off the streets!

She knew how long it had taken them to find the whereabouts of the cat and she couldn’t believe that from one moment to the next, she had disappeared. She did not lose faith and again she did something as simple as what she had done at the beginning: she called the kitten.

In a matter of seconds, the little boy appeared, came running towards her, as if it were a friend he had known for a long time.

Soon this adorable little animal was seen far from the streets

Gissell told her affectionately, “I’m here to find you today. Today is your day. You’ve waited long enough’ and he was true to her word.

Gissell asked Little Wanderers NYC for help and Melina Nastazia was happy to take care of this loving cat. At first they thought she was a pregnant mother, but they soon found out that he was a rather large gelding.

Except for a few flea problems, Crookshanks is in pretty good health, which is really lucky. He is estimated to be six years old and despite having been on the streets most of his life, he loves being with other people.

Thanks to a simple gesture, Crookshanks got what he had long been waiting for: attention, affection, and a family that he would call “his own” again.

Now Crookshanks wants no part of the streets. He is happy in the home he always dreamed of
